A Year of Firsts

2013 brought many firsts into our lives...

... first time going into labor
... first time giving birth to a baby
... first time being 100% responsible for the livelihood of another human being

you know, that kind of stuff

before we go any further, can we just stop and appreciate that I totally kept my new years resolution from last year?!?

go me right?

last year was chalked full of 'em

and 2014 has been no different

we rang in the new year with a very exciting first

Willem's first haircut

I'm a little sorry to admit that it didn't go all that well.

he was beyond fidgety, trying to see what was going on above his head, so I only really had the time (and patience) to get a few snips in.

we cleaned up his forehead, nape of his neck, and around the ears.

he was looking a little friar tuckish at first, but it's looking much better now.

2014, you have very large shoes to fill
