The first trip will be a family affair at the very end of March/ Beginning of April to Los Cabos with my parents. They own at a fabulous resort down there and we get to tag along with them!!

And then...

Just the hubs and I will be flying our butts down to Peurto Vallarta at the end if June!!

Seriously  CAN. NOT. WAIT. for all the sand I am going to be digging my toes into this year.

All made possible by my rockstar parents.

and now a visual aide of what i dream of all day long...

My favorite travelling companion

Where I plan to park it for a week straight in June

The view

and a few of my fondest memories from past family vacations...

to say that I am excited it a HUUUUUUUUGE understatement.

Like, I'm almost pooping my pants over here

A Year of Firsts

2013 brought many firsts into our lives...

... first time going into labor
... first time giving birth to a baby
... first time being 100% responsible for the livelihood of another human being

you know, that kind of stuff

before we go any further, can we just stop and appreciate that I totally kept my new years resolution from last year?!?

go me right?

moving on

last year was chalked full of 'em

and 2014 has been no different

we rang in the new year with a very exciting first

Willem's first haircut

I'm a little sorry to admit that it didn't go all that well.

he was beyond fidgety, trying to see what was going on above his head, so I only really had the time (and patience) to get a few snips in.

we cleaned up his forehead, nape of his neck, and around the ears.

he was looking a little friar tuckish at first, but it's looking much better now.

2014, you have very large shoes to fill

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Our Merry Little Christmas

2013 will go down as the year that I learned to love Christmas the way that I remember seeing my mother love it growing up.

This year I learned on a much more personal level of the love that Heavenly Father has for us, and the gift that he gave to the world in the form of a little baby so many years ago.

I learned how lucky I am to have been given the gift of creation. And what that ability has brought into our lives this past year.

I also learned this year how much like my father I am on Christmas morning (did not see that one coming). I may or may not have uttered "just give me a minute" a few times before getting out of bed.

This year will truly go down as the year that I fell in love with Christmas all over again.
